HUMBER MUSIC

Our three-year music diploma program in jazz and commercial music is the longest running and largest of its kind in Canada. Garnering international acclaim for its faculty, curriculum and alumni, Humber's Music program is considered the school of choice for many serious musicians looking for a professional career.

An Articulation Agreement is in place between Thompson Rivers University (formerly B.C.O.U.) and Humber College’s Music Program. It is possible for Humber College Music Students, through successful completion of required coursework, to be awarded a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Studies from B.C.O.U.

The Community Music School is an outreach program for children and youth offered through Humber's School of Creative and Performing Arts at the Lakeshore Campus. Classes are offered in the evenings and on weekends and provide students aged 3 – 18 yrs with a comprehensive selection of courses ranging from Early Childhood Orff and Kodaly classes to private lessons and jazz combos.

Humber Program Intro to Commercial / Jazz Music. We expect that you will find the fine traditions established by the three year Music Diploma Program are continued in the one year certificate program. These include weekly private lessons, small group ensembles and the opportunity to study with some of Canada's finest jazz musicians.

Humber Music is pleased to offer a variety of courses for those interested in furthering their knowledge and skills in the area of jazz. In particular, we are pleased to offer an extensive series of courses for those interested in MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface).
